Kidung is Balinese ritual hymn or canticle, typically recited in a homophonic choir by grop of local singers based on pre-existing text to accompany religious celebrations. Selected lyric kidung verse deliberately for number reasons. The role complete the and celebration as fifth Gita. four related gitas sacred sounds include sound symbolic narrative forms (Swara Yantra Abinaya) wayang puppetry, infused with edification devine philosophy; Gamelan music accompanying temple dances (may it be female Rejang dance, Makerab Sutri, Pendet male Baris warrior Sandaran etc.); Kulkul wooden bell, Veda / mantra incantation priest, who invariably leads ceremony. gamelan together create Vadyagita. dance Nertya Puja, which creates matrix on-going Almost no Hindu-Balinese ceremony (yadnya) without singing lyrics drawn from Middle Javanese literature. used panca yadnya (five ceremonies) namely: dewa (for god), bhuta (lower spirit), rsi priest), pitra ancestor), manusa human), appropriate selection. This supports solemnity spiritual practice listeners, perfecting an offering expressive communication.
